Very much is expected of UCU. And we strive to best serve and achieve the largest impact. Our university is forming the next generation on the basis of the leadership model “Witnessing-Serving-Communicating.” UCU remains a small university with modest resources, and so witnessing continues to be the main mode of our activity. In order to make a significant contribution, UCU must search for innovative models, focus on what we are best able to do and do this at a level of highest quality. In our new strategy we commit ourselves to this approach

Центр Шептицького

Research work should be guided by social responsibility, try new ways of thinking and solving urgent problems in society, and give attention to the question of how research teaches the scholar, his or her students, and the whole university community. It needs to be a team effort, interdisciplinary and international.

The development of the analytical area and expert activities of UCU’s research departments has great significance. The university needs institutional channels through which it can translate its values into policies by producing new concepts, influence agendas, the formation of public opinion, and change “the rules of the game.”

Our university should be a place for the work and formation of public intellectuals.

Education today is more than preservation, transfer, or the production of new knowledge. It is the influence which the educational institution has on the community and the country in general.
